Students 31 and 132 reported feeling physical pain or sickness in response to EDS: You think you own the world. In turn, old trees support species that don't occur in younger forests. In 1985, the World Wide Fund for Nature and lUCN set up the Botanic Gardens Conservation Secretariat, which aims to expand the role of botanic gardens in conserving threatened plant species. The resulting industrial-growth society is destructive and unsustainable, because it depends on continually extracting ever increasing amounts of materials from the finite resources of the planet while discharging increasing amounts of waste into the environment.
